Snow Day!

We got two inches of snow last night! That means snow day for Eugene Public Schools. Jeff and I have been entertaining ourselves all day. We got up and went for a snowy walk in the park across the street from our house. The park is actually huge. It's three blocks wide by six blocks long. There's a frisbee golf course, a middle school, a parks and rec building and a brand new football field/track spread throughout the space. It's a really wonderful space. In the fall and spring, we sometimes walk out at night to see the kiddos playing baseball, football, or ultimate frisbee. It's almost like being back in Grand Rapids and listening to the sounds of the football game float down the back hill.

We have been inside doing "house" stuff all day. Jeff is sorting through a box of old letters and keepsakes. He's found some funny stuff. Like a newspaper from Lodi, Italy with a picture of him riding his bike down the middle of a street "just like a regular Italian gentleman" as his students told him. Except that he looks like a giant, blond, bearded American in the picture. It's pretty cute.

I've been writing the last of the thank yous for our wedding. Thank you all! We had some friends who were out for a walk drop by. Then we walked out again to get some coffee at our neighborhood coffee shop--Eugene Coffee Company.

We're in the throes of trying to decide if we need to cover our hose bibs. (Apparently hose bibs is the technical name for outside faucet.) It's supposed to get down to 13 degrees tonight! It hasn't been that cold the entire time we've lived here. I am actually thoroughly enjoying the weather. It's getting me in the mood for Christmas! Nothing says Christmas like cold weather and snow. At least if you grew up in Michigan.

Happy Snow Day!

Bill just told me you had dusted this off and were working on it again. Woo hoo! Everyday life can be just as fun as world travels. Thanks for letting us know what goes on in yours! :-)
